Barry Stewart & Sons Ltd is a family run business which continues to grow by providing central government, local authorities and private organisations with the specialist services of a professional, experienced and reliable building contractor, property developer and property leasing company.
Over the years, and through many successful projects and developments, we have earned an exceptional reputation for consistently high standards of work.

The early days
After working for his father in a hardware shop on the Longbridge Road, Barking, Essex, Barry Stewart followed his entrepreneurial spirit and started a plant hire company, which he ran for 17 years. To make ends meet in the early days, Barry carried out various projects including tree felling and playing drums in a local band. When the time was right, Barry sold his plant hire company and in 1983, he created a building construction company - Barry Stewart & Sons Ltd.

In March 2003, as the business expanded, Barry Stewart & Sons Ltd relocated from Plaistow to Barking, Essex, just a few hundred metres from where Barry originally started his working life.
